Musician

During his 35 year career as an award-winning singer and songwriter, Bill has composed, recorded, produced and performed music that is as true to his American roots as it is inspirational to his audience. As an acknowledged master of the Native American flute, Bill has earned two Grammy awards along with multiple Native American Music awards in recognition of his songwriting.
During the course of his extensive career, Bill has cowritten with the likes of Nanci Griffith, Peter Rowan, Kim Carnes and his friend and mentor (comrade), Michael Martin Murphy. He has shared the stage and toured with such diverse artists as Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, the BoDeans, Richie Havens, Arlo Guthrie and Tori Amos.

Bill is currently working on a series of four recordings, each named after the four directions of the “Spirit Wind,” in honor of all the North American Tribes. His much anticipated recording, “Chronicles of Hope,” is slated for a fall 2009 release. A 2010 tour with Michael Martin Murphy is in the works.

Throughout his career, with one third of his time annually spent on the road, Bill would confess, “My music sustains my vision—it is a gift to be shared and a joy to perform.”
